Home-Start West Somerset Receives the Queens Award for Voluntary Services

Home-Start West Somerset have been honoured with the Queens Award for Voluntary Service this year. It is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK recognising and celebrating the outstanding work by groups of volunteers in communities for the benefit of others.

Clare Pound manager of Home Start West Somerset and Carol Morris one of the Family Coordinators attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace in May in recognition of the award.

Home-Start West Somerset is based in Minehead offering support, friendship and practical help to families at home with children under seven across the West Somerset area also providing special projects including “Jump Start” for families who have children with disabilities or special needs.

Home-Start West Somerset is a voluntary organisation offering support, friendship, and practical help to parents with young children in our local community. We work with trained volunteers who visit families at home and offer them informal, confidential, and flexible support.

This very successful and expanding charity are seeking to recruit a friendly person with great organisational skills to join our Minehead-based team. Previous experience of Financial tasks, book-keeping and IT is preferable.

The purpose of the post is to undertake Financial administrative duties and other general administration duties. Post subject to DBS check.
