Home-Start is a voluntary organisation offering support, friendship and practical help to families at home with children under seven.
Here at Home-Start West Somerset, we support families from Minehead to Watchet and from Porlock to Dulverton!
Bump-Start is our innovative early intervention programme using volunteers to support families through pregnancy, the birth experience and during the first year of their baby’s life.

Big Hope Big Future aims to enable Home-Start volunteers to promote parental engagement with their children to support them to be ready for school.
Volunteers will support families to:
- Establish good routines,
- Help parents to manage children’s behaviour,
- Encourage parents to focus on raising levels of early literacy.
